The Makerere University Walter
Reed Project (MUWRP) is a non-profit HIV research program that was established
in 2002 as a result of a memorandum of understanding between Makerere
University and The Henry M. Jackson foundation for Advancement of Military
Medicine Inc. of USA (HJF). The primary purpose of MUWRP is to develop,
evaluate and provide interventions to mitigate disease threats of public health
importance to Uganda.

Job Summary: The Sanitary
Officer will support the Makerere University Walter Reed Project field office
in Mukono and will be charged with general cleanliness of all MUWRP – Field
workstations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The
incumbent will be tasked with cleaning Project Offices. - Laundry
of all theatre linen inclusive of Gowns, Sheets, Towels, Aprons, Gumboots,
Slippers etc. - Ensures
the linen is dry and ironed in time - Ensure
there is enough water in the theatre at all times. If there is not enough
water such as during the dry seasons of it there is a power cut, the
cleaner must fetch sufficient water so that surgeries are not delayed. - Keep
records of sundries and report any minor breaks of the logistics used in a
timely manner. - Ensure
that the generator area is clean - Tasked
with loading and offloading of supplies and equipment when required - Cleaning
Project vehicles and motor bikes - Perform
any other duties as directed by the Supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant must hold an ‘O’ Level Certificate - Physical
fitness - The
candidate should be innovative and self-driven with good communication
skills and proven integrity. - High
level of responsibility in handling project property - Willingness
to put in extra time and effort when required is essential. - Willingness
to be trained in the Standard Operating procedures of jurisdiction - Should
be willing to start work immediately. - Must
have a recommendation letter from a MUWRP staff or acceptable responsible
person
