Job Summary: The Legal
Officer will provide legal support to bank operations.
Officer will provide legal support to bank operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To
ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frame governing the bank - To
represent the bank in courts of law. - Assists
with the preparation of all legal documents and correspondence of legal
nature with third parties. - To
provide such secretarial support as required by management. - Provide
support to the credit function in processing of loan documentation and
securitization. - Formulate
views about potential legal problems or the impact of recent regulatory or
legislative changes. - Prepare
written opinions, guide management, Research background information
related to legal issues, gather records and files, and input information
together. - Perform
researches, prepare and review information pertaining to court cases and
legal issues. - Liaise
with external lawyers in connection with litigation for and on behalf of
the bank - As
Risk champion for the department ensure that monthly Risk meetings are
held
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
Legal Officer must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Laws -
Postgraduate Diploma from LDC is a MUST - Enrolled
Advocate with a valid practicing certificate -
Requisite legal skills gained through practical experience, as an advocate -
Ability to move in the field whenever called upon -
Self-driven or ability to work with minimum supervision
