Procurement
(URA) was established by the Uganda Revenue Authority Statute of 1991 and set
up in September of the same year as a central body for assessment and
collection of specified revenue, to administer and enforce the laws relating to
such revenue and to provide for related matters. This statute incorporated all
the laws that were in force then regarding tax collection. The new organization
(URA) amalgamated the three tax administration departments that were
responsible for all the taxes collected by the Central Government of Uganda.
Procurement will process all procurement and disposal requisitions assigned in
order to facilitate URA business continuity and promote value for money
transactions.
- The
applicant for the URA Officer Procurement job placement should hold a
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supplies/Logistics Management, B.Com
(Procurement) BBA (Procurement) or another business related degree with a
major in Procurement. - Professional
Qualifications in Procurement (CIPS). - Additional
training in Contract Management, Public Procurement. - Training
on e-procurement. - One
year of working experience in handling Procurements for large
organizations. - Knowledge
of procurement law of Uganda (PPDA Act) and other relevant laws. - Strong
Analytical skills - High
proficiency in the use of computer applications especially spreadsheets
and databases - Excellent
report writing capability - Project
management experience and capability - Good
team player and negotiator - Ability
to manage time effectively and be able to communicate with all levels of
employees in an organization
