Job Summary: The Driver
/ Office Messenger will work as the Organization’s driver and office messenger
while in Kampala.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
Office Messenger Duties:
  • Timely delivery of packages and
    documents and ensuring that the recipient acknowledges upon receipt
  • Support in purchase of goods as
    instructed from time to time.
  • Pick packages and documents from
    different partners as instructed.
Driver Duties:
  • Drive Organization’s staff to different
    destinations as instructed by authorities within and outside Kampala
  • In charge of ensuring that the office
    vehicle is in a good working condition.
  • Give advance notice incase repairs for
    the vehicle are required
  • Ensure that the office vehicle is parked
    in safe places especially during upcountry travels
  • Ensure that the car is used for office
    duties only
  • Ensure that reasonable care is exercised
    when driving on the road.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Driver / Office Messenger must hold
    an O’ Level Certificate or its equivalent
  • Hold a valid driving permit with at
    least two classes B, DL
  • A minimum of two to three years’ driving
    experience
  • Experience in driving long distances
  • Basic knowledge on cars and different
    parts of the car for easy identification of issues. Knowledge of
    applicable Uganda traffic laws and regulations
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to perform minor car servicing
    and repairs when required 
  • Age: Between 25- 45 years
