Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- This
is a non-technical role to support the Shelter team in the software and
community based aspects of the project. - Conduct
the selection of Beneficiaries for shelter activities in coordination with
stakeholders - Ensuring
all project activities are in accordance with budgetary constraints and
being implemented on schedule. - Assisting
in planning for project implementation including technical activity, financial
and procurement planning. - Providing
support in the preparation of periodic reports on the construction
activities, including documentation of final hand over and closure of
projects. - Participation
in NRC construction quality assurance and report validation. - Investigating
and facilitating introduction of new technologies and approaches for
shelter provision.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Project Assistant
-Shelter (Social) job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
development studies, social sciences or related field. - Hands-on
experience in implementing social aspects of Shelter projects in a
humanitarian/recovery context - Previous
experience from working with refugees in a complex and volatile contexts - Documented
results related to the position’s responsibilities - Previous
experience from working as a Shelter or WASH in a humanitarian/recovery
context - Experience
in conducting assessment for beneficiary selection - Ability
to speak Swahili or any of the local languages of the beneficiaries - Knowledge
of the local context - Good
communication skills - Community
and stake holder engagement skills
