households and communities to fulfill their obligations in child care and
development and affiliated to Baptist Union of Uganda. Share An Opportunity –
Uganda’s key thematic areas are child health, Basic Education for OVC’s, Child
Advocacy, Enterprise Development and food security, and institutional
development for community based organisations while HIV/AIDS is mainstreamed in
the program.
Job Summary:   The driver will provide secure and timely
driving services to the organisation by transporting staff and/or goods in an
efficient manner according to SAO policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Provide
    transportation for  employees of and
    visitors as authorized
  • Follow
    up the driver planning and scheduling register transportation
  • Deliver
    payment transfers to the bank and/or the suppliers
  • Distribute
    mail as needed, both incoming and outgoing
  • Facilitate
    airport pickups for visitors and transportation during official visits
  • Vehicle
    maintenance management
  • Schedule
    annual vehicle examination for vehicle
  • Determine
    when and what kind of maintenance the vehicle needs, keep track of general
    maintenance schedules, especially car tyre condition
  • Ensure
    sound running of the vehicle assigned and arrange minor repairs where
    necessary
    .
  • Update
    monthly mileage records
  • Maintain
    log book of vehicle on daily basis.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    applicant must hold a UCE qualification
  • Five
    years of experience of driving with a valid driving license.
  • Desired
    is a qualification in mechanics and multi class of driving license
  • A
    Sense of Responsibility: should have a good sense of responsibility and
    adhere to safety requirements when driving,.
  • Alertnes:  must be alert at all times and able to
    be responsive to the road and driving conditions.
  • An
    Impeccable Driving Record:  must
    have an excellent driving record
