Job Summary: The Accounts
Assistant will ensure that the organisation has a robust and excellent
accounting system that enables consistently accurate, timely and reliable
financial reporting to meet different stakeholder requirements.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Provide input into the budgeting process,
with respect to costs that relate to Lodges. - Receive invoices and receipts from all
local suppliers and send to Lodges Accountant. - Prepare payment requisitions for the
Lodges and attach supporting documents. - Record financial transactions at Lodge
accurately, timely, and efficiently in Ms. Excel before upload in the
Accounting Software. - Ensure that financial transactions are
filed appropriately, both physically and electronically, to enhance easy
retrieval. - Bank cash and cheques for direct walk-ins
at the Lodge. - Ensure that operational advance
accountabilities of funds sent to the Lodge are prepared and submitted to
Accountant timely, reasonably and well supported. - Maintain custody of petty cash and ensure
that all petty cash payments are properly accounted for. - Maintain the fixed asset register at the
Lodge - Prepare and send daily sales, stock, bank
deposit and occupancy report to Head Office. - Adequately prepare for external and
internal audits and offer the required support during the exercise. - Undertake reasonable requests made by
company including flexible hours, location and responsibilities. - Ensure knowledge of and compliance to all
policies of the company. - Adhere to company values of excellence,
integrity and professionalism.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Submission of daily stock, sales, banking
and occupancy reports to Lodge Accountant. - All operational advances for the Lodge
properly reconciled with outstanding advances not exceeding 30 days or
else, escalated.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Accounting or related field - One to three years of accounting
experience. - Excellent oral and written communication
skills. - Previous experience in the hospitality
sector is an added advantage. - Highly organized and disciplined.
- High attention to detail.
