Job Summary: The Security
Guard will be responsible for general security of the reception centre, health
centres and staff accommodation where they are placed for duty. He or she will
work with police, in charge and health workers at the centre

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of
intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates. - Respond to all security alerts/risks and
investigate disturbances. - Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of
employees, visitors, and
other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. - Write reports of daily activities and
irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of
unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. - Call
police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence
of unauthorized persons. - Circulate among visitors, patrons, and
employees to preserve order and protect property. - Warn persons of rule infractions or violations,
and apprehend or evict
violators from premises, using force when necessary. - Ensure any violations of IRC Sexual Abuse and
Exploitation code of conduct are reported to the Field Coordinator or
Human Resource Personnel.
The reporting is an obligation of all staff members. - Assist where necessary in undertaking
activities that aim to prevent occurrence of sexual abuse and exploitation
of beneficiaries by IRC and other Humanitarian workers
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant for the International Rescue Committee Security Guard job
placement must hold an O- Level Certificate - Two years of working experience preferably with
NGOs - Able to communicate effectively in English and
Knowledge of the local language is an added advantage. - Ability to communicate effectively in English
