About Project:
Malaria Consortium Uganda has
received funding from DFID/UNICEF to implement the Strengthening Uganda’s
Response to Malaria (SURM) project which will focus on reducing the impact of
the leading causes of U5M morbidity and mortality in 16 districts in Northern
Uganda. The project will address lagging maternal and neonatal mortality
through a combination of iCCM and selected maternal and neonatal care
interventions. The project is implemented with UNICEF and spans a five-year
period (April 2018-March 2023) in 16 districts in the Northern region of
Uganda.

Job Summary: The Office
Assistants will ensure office hygiene and security is maintained in accordance
to Malaria Consortium standards; which include maintaining a clean and
comfortable office environment, and ensuring that the premises are secure,
accessible to staff and well-lit in the evening.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning duties (40%)
- Cleaning
the cups - Supervising
external cleaners - Preparing
and serving staff members tea - Organising
for tea and snacks for meetings - Supporting
the staff to tidy up their work stations
Guard duties (30%)
- Required
to open the office on time and lock it - Keep
guard of the office so that nothing gets lost as you watch and wait for staff
working beyond office hours - Switch
off all lights and all electric appliances before locking the offices - Safe
guard the office keys at all times
Stores (5%): Assist in stores and take inventory as
required

Other Duties (25%)
- Help
to carry office related materials to the directed staff - Assist
at the reception when need arises - Assist
staff in running errands - Managing
petty cash
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant for the Malaria Consortium Office Assistant job opportunity
should hold an A’ level Certificate - One
year of experience serving in a similar role
