Federation Department for World Service (LWF-DWS), an international
humanitarian and development agency. LWF Uganda works to reduce people’s
vulnerability, supporting them to realize their potential, to build on their
assets, and to respond to their own problems and needs. LWF Uganda currently
has five areas of operation in Pader, Kitgum, Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule,
Kampala and Kamwenge Districts. LWF
World Service partners include Lutheran Churches and their related agencies,
the European Commission (ECHO), the US Government (BPRM) and UNHCR among
others, with whom LWF World Service is a key implementing partner.
The ideal candidate for the LWF Psychosocial
Officer job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in counseling and/or
psychology, Masters in the same field is an added advantage;
At least three years’ experience in counseling;
Knowledge of gender/child protection issues and
human rights;
Working experience in refugee situations is an
added advantage;
Good facilitation/training and project report
writing skills;
Ability to work with minimal supervision;
Motivated, innovative and possesses outstanding
organization and interpersonal skills and integrity;
Willingness to work in a hardship area;
