humanitarian aid projects, reaching more than 72 million people. CARE
International in Uganda (CARE) works with others to make a sustainable
improvement in the lives of the very poor, with a focus on women and girls. Our
current program focusses on women and girls’ economic rights, particularly
financial inclusion and governance of natural resources women and girls depend
upon, and on their sexual and reproductive health rights, including a life free
of violence. Our programming is guided by our core values of excellence,
accountability, respect, integrity and transparency.
Job Summary:  The Interns will support CARE’s vision of
seeking a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been
overcome and all people live in dignity and security by documenting, sharing,
disseminating, generating knowledge and information that will help us put
women, girls and youth at the center of our work. This is because we know that
we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and
opportunities. The interns must believe in our mission to work around the globe
to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice. And also help propel
CARE as a global leader within a worldwide movement dedicated to ending
poverty.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
        
Identify, write and tell stories about CARE’s
work in a creative, empowering and illuminating manner
        
Guide CARE staff/partners and demonstrate
capacity to creatively showcase CARE’s work through our website, through social
media and using IT,
        
Advise and demonstrate capacity to showcase and
package CARE’s work through graphic design,
        
Have strong editing, newspaper article and press
statement writing and content production skills,
        
Advise, train CARE staff/partners and use
various communication approaches to make CARE’s work more visible
        
Mentor and train CARE staff/partners on creative
ways of sharing and disseminating project information in annual reports,
baseline reports, research reports, midterm review reports, and end line survey
reports.
        
Support CARE Uganda’s development of a database
of stories of change.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
        
The applicants for the CARE International
Internship jobs should hold Degrees in communications, web design, journalism
or social media, public relations
        
Proven ability to work on time sensitive
assignments and interact well with diverse groups;
        
Collaborative work and self-driven approach;
        
Excellent communication skills both oral and
written;
        
Excellent analytical skills;
        
Computer literacy; especially working with
graphical design type packages.
        
Frequent travel to and periodically work in
rural areas e.g. Arua, Kyangwali, Kyaka, Gulu,
        
Amuru, Otuke, Karamoja, Moyo and Adjumani
        
Respectful and driven by passion to make a
difference in the lives of people living in poverty.
