InterAid Uganda Limited (IAU)
is a non-governmental humanitarian national organization established in 1988,
and duly registered with the NGO Board and NGO Forum. IAU is actively involved
in programs geared towards the protection and improvement of lives of
disadvantaged people living in urban and rural areas in Uganda and in the Great
Lakes Region. InterAid Uganda is focused on its thematic areas of Rights
Protection, Education, Livelihood & Food Security, Health (HIV&AIDS;
Malaria; Maternal and Reproductive Health), Water, Sanitation & Hygiene
(WASH), Environment and Disaster Management and good Management and Governance
systems.
Job Summary: The Security
Officer will mainly identify any possible risk across the organisation premises
and ensure that Company properties are safe guarded in accordance with the
company risk management policy and also support the security section in the
various security actions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Process Management:
  • Ensure
    security for all IAU properties.
  • Conduct
    investigations of all reported incidents
  • Develop
    procedures to be followed by all staff and other external stakeholders to
    ensure safety of UTL assets.
  • Analyse
    potential fraud situations and suggest preventive measures
  • Carry
    out further analysis to eliminate all the possible loopholes.
  • Generate
    timely reports detailing the activities in the security section on the
    agreed Key Performance Indicators.
  • Scan
    the environment and recommend actions to minimize potential security
    threats to the organization.
  • Review
    alerts in order to redesign rules, reset filters, set new filters etc.
  • Supervising
    the security guards and policement at all IAU premises
  • Ensure
    that the all staff and visitors comply with the set security rules and
    regulations
  • Follow
    up implementation of recommended security actions regarding Health &
    safety for all staff of IAU
  • Carry
    out any other duties as may be delegated by your supervisor from time to
    time
  • Risk
    Management:
    Identifying,
    assessing and developing strategies to mitigate against risks that may
    happen on the organisation’s premises.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure
    compliance to policies and procedures relating to the management of
    security.
  • Maintain
    high level of confidentiality.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    ideal candidate for the InterAid Uganda Limited (IAU) Security Officer job
    opportunity should preferably hold a
    university degree in Security Management and Investigation, Security
    Systems or relevant qualification from a recognised university.
  • Five to ten years’ experience in Police, armed
    forces or any other security organization will be an added advantage.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Uganda geographical
    Regions
  • Proficiency in data analysis, and report
    writing.
  • Good knowledge of the Uganda’s legal environment
  • Hand-on experience in Forensic investigations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication
    skills
  • Excellent Analytical and reporting skills
  • High integrity
  • Good Customer care skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work outside the normal working
    hours
