organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission). CoRSU Rehabilitation
Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre on Entebbe Road provides Orthopaedic
Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children with
disability.
Surgeon will provide a high standard of care (diagnosis & management) to
patients with all musculoskeletal conditions presenting to the hospital. The
incumbent will assist the Head of the orthopaedic department in developing the
orthopaedic services. The jobholder will be tasked with the involvement in
teaching and training all staff and visiting residents or medical students. The
surgeon is expected to be competent in managing most orthopaedic conditions
especially relating to paediatric orthopaedics. The philosophy of the hospital
is a team based approach working with the rehabilitation department,
orthopaedic workshop, plastic surgery department and nursing department to
provide the best available care for the patients. The job also entails an
element of oversight and teaching for the medical officers, residents, nurses
and visiting medical students.
Experience:
The applicant must hold an MBCHB or equivalent
MMED Orthopedics or equivalent (fellowship)
Registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental
Practioner’s Council (UMDPC)
Three years of post qualification experience in
Orthopeadic Surgery with a bias to paediatrics.
