Investigator and Clinical Advisor
Disease Control and Prevention to provide comprehensive HIV/AIDS, STI and TB
services to prisoners and staff of the Prisons Service. The project that spans
the period 1st April, 2015 to 31st March, 2020 is being implemented
by the Department of Prisons Health Services.
maintains medical laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality
standards; developing operations, quality and troubleshooting procedures;
ensure staff compliance; certifying instrument performance; arranging equipment
replacement, service and repair.
Ensures All Laboratories have personnel
Ensures all the necessary equipment is available
and functional.
Ensures reagents are in adequate supply.
Ensures adherence to quality control
requirements.
Coordinate proficiency testing for all HIV
testers.
Ensures coordination with UVRI of all laboratory
quality assurance service for the program.
Coordinate Viral Load testing and reporting by
all implementing facilities.
Experience:
The applicant must hold a Bachelors degree in
Medical laboratory sciences and at least three years laboratory or related
experience;
Should have thorough knowledge of Health Service
Management gained over a period of at least three years’ experience.
Demonstrable knowledge of HIV/AIDS programming
will be an added advantage.
Knowledgeable in both medical technology and
management principles
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and
able to lead and direct others;
Good report writing skills
Teamwork;
High levels of ethics and integrity.
The Laboratory Coordinator must be a dynamic and
highly self-motivated person with the ability to work under pressure and meet
tight reporting deadlines and will be required to travel frequently and spend
60% of the time in the field.
