Companies Act in December 1967, the Bank has become a household name and has
grown in leaps and bounds with a good track record among the pioneers of a
mortgage lending. National Housing & Construction Corporation, a parastatal
involved in real estate business has 5% shareholding and National Social
Security Fund (NSSF) holds 50% and the Government of Uganda holds 45%. Today,
the bank looks back with pride on the business accomplished in the mortgage
lending business. Through innovation and placing emphasis on Honesty,
Integrity, Efficiency and Customer care, Housing Finance Bank is the leader in
the mortgage, holding a 90% market share.
Officer will mainly setup and maintain information technology security
apparatus of the Bank, which includes proprietary hardware and software
systems, as well as, custom security systems built on varying technology
operating systems in line with bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Monitors and maintains the database of access to
the Bank’s critical systems and hardware.
Run routine tests on the Bank’s infrastructure
and systems so as to identify and plug any systems security loopholes
Analyse IDS/IPS logs and implement
recommendations to ensure continued performance
Analyse DB Monitoring System logs and tweak
configuration for optimal performance
Develop Shell and PowerShell scripts to harvest
information from the Bank’s user Directory system
Provide monthly reports on access and
restrictions on various systems, both hardware and software
Actively plug security holes found on the
network by commercial or open-source means
Ensure updates and patches to all systems (Unix
and Windows) are run regularly and any exceptions identified are continuously
monitored
Monitor the Spam filter and firewall logging to
ensure sanitization of data inbound
Work closely with Internal Audit on reports and
other activities to improve security
Assist in External Audits of the Bank and as
well as External Penetration Tests
Form part of the Bank’s internal Red Team for IT
Security
Experience:

Three years in Network security
Professional certifications i.e. CCNA, ITIL and
any IT security qualification an added advantage
