The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit
organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health
specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems
with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity
Development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve
its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory
services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John
Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.

Job Summary: The Project
Manager – Strategic Programming for Key and Priority Populations will provide
the overall leadership to the Project under the guidance of the Head of
Training and Capacity Development and Project Director. The job holder will be
required to coordinate with the project partners to oversee the implementation
of the following;

required to coordinate with the project partners to oversee the implementation
of the following;
- HIV related diversity training
- Development of HIV differentiated service
delivery models - HIV surveillance surveys.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Leadership, technical, financial and
administrative responsibility of program implementation. - Design appropriate capacity building
interventions related to key population programming - Performance monitoring, evaluation and
management of reporting to the donor and stakeholders. - Offer technical assistance and
backstopping support to the Project team. - Tasked with monitoring and tracking
Project expenditure and ensuring financial reports are submitted to the
donor. - Certify that project methodologies are
implemented in a timely and scientifically sound manner - Overall partnership management making sure
implementing partners are effectively supported. - Representation of the Project on all
important fora - Supervise, monitor, evaluate and carry out
reporting for the project - Ensure the project activities are in
compliance with policies and
procedures required by the donor, Government of Uganda and the Infectious
Diseases Institute (IDI)
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
degree in a medical-related discipline, social sciences or related field. - Possession of a Master’s degree in Public
health, Health Economics etc is desired - Training and experience in programming
with key and/or priority populations affected by HIV. - At least five years of successful
management of public health/health systems strengthening/HIV & AIDS
projects. - Previous experience working in
organizations providing key population friendly services - Demonstrated familiarity with the
functioning of the decentralized local government system of Uganda - Knowledge of PEPFAR/US Government
programming policies and regulations, procedures and practices, which bear
on project management in support of cooperative agreements. - In-depth knowledge and experience in
HIV/AIDS is an added advantage to capacity building for local governments
and Non-government organizations. - Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
skills. - Previous experience supervising
professional and support staff,
