Resource & Administration Officer
arm through which Government will invest in strategic Sectors of the economy in
partnership with the private sector to trigger industrial and economic
development of the country. The mandate of UDC is to promote and facilitate the
industrial and economic development of Uganda. The Government of Uganda
received a grant from The Korean Government through Korea International
Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to facilitate construction of a Fruit Processing
factory. The factory is to be run under UDC as a subsidiary- Soroti Fruits
Limited (SOFTE). The company will produce ready to drink juice and concentrates
from Ugandan produced fruits notably Oranges and Mangoes.
The Human Resource & Administration Officer will be providing support in
various Human Resource and administrative functions which include; recruitment,
staffing, training and development, performance monitoring, employee counseling
and assets administration
Responsibilities:
- Interpreting and advising on employment
policies and labour laws - Planning and delivering training sessions
including induction of staff - Preparing and overseeing implementation of
Human Resource strategies, policies and - programs/work plans;
- Establishing and managing an efficient and
effective, professional and
sustainable Human Resource system; - Preparing schedule of duties;
- Updating
records of staff training
and development programs; - Ensuring implementation of computerized
human resources management infrastructure - Managing all industrial relations issues.
- Administering payroll
- Maintaining employee records
- Providing
advice and assistance while conducting staff performance
evaluations - Provide basic counselling to staff
- Ensuring effective management of office
equipment and transport services are provided; - Ensuring compliance with environmental,
health and safety measures and regulations; - Managing relevant service provider’s
contracts and assessments of service level
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Social
Sciences - Post graduate Diploma in HRM (added
advantage) - Minimum working experience of three (3)
years in a similar position - Ability to use databases, spreadsheets,
word processing packages - HR administration, Payroll Administration,
recruitment and selection skills. - Knowledgeable of all relevant Employment
Laws - Counseling and good negotiation skills
- Presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills,
- Ability to work under pressure with
minimum supervision. - Must be honest and a person of high
integrity. - Ability to use own initiative and work
independently - Must be self motivated, accurate and
attentive to details
