About Us:
Uganda Electricity Generation
Company Ltd was incorporated in March 2001 under the Companies Act, 2012 on the
basis of the Public Enterprises Reform and Divestiture Act, Cap 98 and
Electricity Act, Cap 145 respectively. UEGCL is wholly owned by the Government
of the Republic of Uganda. UEGCL’s key role is to – carry on the business of
electric power generation and sale within Uganda or for export to neighbouring
countries; build, operate and maintain Electricity Generation Plants; monitor
the operation and maintenance of its Concessioned Assets – Nalubaale and Kiira
Power Stations; provide Technical Support as and when required by the
Government of the Republic of Uganda through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral
Development; organize, support, encourage and maintain training facilities in
technical and related fields, amongst others.

Job Summary: The Graduate
Trainee Internal Auditor will primarily review, evaluate and contribute to the
improved effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes and
perform audit assignments as directed by the supervisor Key responsibilities:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct
audit assignments as per audit programmes. - Identify
material changes in operations/systems and alert supervisors. - Evaluate
effectiveness and efficiency of operations and promoting continuous
improvement - Ascertain
extent to which process goals and objectives have been established and
conform to those of UEGCL - Review
processes to ascertain extent to which results are consistent with goals
and objectives and are performed as intended - Prepare
timely, clear, and well-written reports of audit results to Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant for the Uganda Electricity Generation Company
Ltd (UEGCL) Graduate Trainee Internal Auditor job placement must hold an Upper
Second B. Com, Accounting (Hons), Economics or equivalent - Part qualification with a relevant professional
body such as IIA, ACCA, CPA CIMA desirable - One
year of auditing experience in busy and recognised organisation - Analytical,
testing and sampling skills - High degree of Professionalism
- Knowledge of Audit Strategy.
- Knowledge of Audit Methodology and scope:
- Understanding Risk, Control and Governance
- Management of Audits skills
- Good reporting skills
- Computer & IT competencies
- Age: Below 35 years
