Analyst is a secondment from the Uganda Health Supply Chain (UHSC) program to
the Central Public Health Laboratories (CPHL) reporting to the Monitoring and
Evaluation Specialist, CPHL/UHSC. S/he in collaboration with the
Regional/District Laboratory Focal Person (DFLP) will ensure that all
supervision data is captured, analyzed and fed into a monthly Lab Supervision
Performance Assessment and Recognition Strategy (SPARS) report to UHSC and
CPHL.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily data management
functions of SPARS program data. S/he is responsible for the updating,
maintenance and validation of SPARS databases. - In charge of merging other logistics data
from SLMTA/SLIPTA, LIMS and DHIS2 to populate CPHL indicators and linking
them to SPARS database. - Provide support in the rollout of Lab
SPARS through orientation of users of SPARS database training for new and
existing mentors, supervisors, DLFPs and District Biostatisticians in use
of the SPARS tools. - Serves as the first point of contact for
hardware/software problems for users using the Lab SPARS database in the
facilities/ field. - Actively participate in the design of
assessments data tools, collection of data from the field for CPHL/UNHLS. - Assist in the mapping of equipment
inventory at facility level and generating alerts for any break down to
enable distribution of lab reagents. - Assist in improvement of SPARS data
quality, through data reviews, and validation to ensure consistency,
integrity and accuracy based on the SPARS specific guidelines. - Assist in identifying trends in Lab SPARS,
information utilization and areas of improvement at facility level. - Provide support in adhoc data searches for
the generation of reports.
- The applicants for the Management Sciences
for Health (MSH) Data Analyst job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree
in Applied Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Management
Information Technology or a related field. - Three years of relevant professional work
experience. - Good computer skills in Microsoft office
suite applications and statistical packages such as Microsoft project,
SPSS, Epi Info, and advanced Excel. - Ability to integrate and maintain database.
- Ability to resolve data issues at national
level. - Knowledge and working experience in
laboratory logistics Management information systems an added advantage. - Strong team work, communication and
project management skills.
