Job Title:        Cooks (2 O’ Level Jobs)

About US:
Mengo Hospital was founded in 1897 in Kampala, and is the oldest
hospital in Uganda. It currently serves as an urban community hospital that
provides modern medical care. Mengo Hospital provides comprehensive care
including radiology, obstetrics, dentistry, orthopedics, and surgery.
Additionally, Mengo Hospital provides critical training and education to health
professionals through its various programs in midwifery and nursing, health
sciences, and laboratory technology. Mengo Hospital also has a dedicated
research and development team that works to find new solutions to health issues
in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Cook will
ensure preparation of good quality food for clients at all times
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure that kitchen equipment and utensils
    are kept clean at all times.
  • Mixing the right amount of food and
    ingredients according to weight and type.
  • Collect and splint firewood and ensure its
    safety.
  • Tasked with daily cleaning of the kitchen
    before and after serving meals



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate should hold an O’
    level certificate
  • One year of experience in similar role,
    preferably in a schools setting.
  • Men are encouraged to apply

  • Good team player.
  • Flexibility
  • High standards of personal hygiene
  • Ability to work long hours
