for Peace (FFP) USAID funded program called NUYOK to build resilience to shocks,
enhance livelihoods and improve food security and nutrition for vulnerable
rural families in three districts of Karamoja viz: Abim, Nakapiripirit and
Napak – which are home to 406,880 people living in an estimated 58,126
households. Caritas Kotido Diocese through support from CRS will implement the
activities of NUYOK Programme in Abim District.
technical advice and assure the coordination of all activities related to
water, hygiene and sanitation projects. S/he will play a key role in searching
for possibilities to improve the impacts of water and sanitation activities.
- Plan,
facilitate and conduct behavioural change activities using recommended approaches
in collaboration with community health workers in the implementation area. - Closely
follow up and monitor behavioural change activities implementation and
their output/outcome within the NUYOK implementation area. - Initiate,
plan and provide training to parents/caregivers on personal hygiene, water
storage and handling and hand washing. - Prepare
quality progress reports monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually
that clearly narrate the activities carried out within the reporting
period. - Carry
out assessments related to WASH in the program implementation area. - Create
and organize the hygiene clubs and WASH committees towards the
sustainability of WASH infrastructure and services in the NUYOK Coverage. - Create
networking and partnership with relevant partners operating within the
district level to enhance WASH behavioural Change promotion. - Using
appropriate M&E tools developed, facilitate data collection, analysis
and interpretation of WASH related data at district and village levels and
safekeeping gathered information in the WASH database. - Perform
any other relevant duties assigned.
- The
ideal person should hold a BSc in Environmental Health, Public health or
and related fields - At
least three years’ experience on water, sanitation and hygiene projects. - Previous
experience on CLTS and PHAST models. - Having
an experience of USAID based interventions is an added advantage. - Experience
working with CBOS/ FBOs is desirable. - Ability
to communicate in applicable local language(s) - Computer
literacy skills - Writing
and reporting skills - Possession
of a valid riding permit is a must.
