Manager
is a collaborative Bio-medical research and service delivery organization. It
strives to improve the quality of life of the local population through a
combination of community based research, curative services and prevention
strategies in the District of Rakai, South Western Uganda. It is based at the
Uganda Virus Research Institute Entebbe and Kalisizo in Rakai District.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), RHSP is implementing a 5 year
comprehensive HIV/ AIDS program in the 12 districts of Masaka region namely;
Rakai, Kyotera, Masaka, Kalungu, Bukomansimbi, Lyantonde, Lwengo, Sembabule,
Butambala, Gomba, Mpigi, and Kalangala with an aim of achieving rapid HIV
epidemic control.
Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Manager provides technical oversight,
operational coordination and management including; planning, implementation,
capacity enhancement, monitoring/evaluation and reporting to delivery of high
quality OVC care and support services in Masaka region
- Manage
the implementation of OVC activities in all supported districts and
communities - Support functionality of OVC coordination structures at
sub-district, district and stakeholder levels in all the supported
districts. - Oversee achievement of OVC performance targets
in line with technical standards, best practices and donor
guidelines. - Develop comprehensive work plans and budgets for the
implementation of quality OVC activities - Carry out field visits to support OVC
activities and use the learning to continuously modify programming - Continuously document new developments in OVC
programming and align them to proposed activities. - Lead training, mentorship and other capacity
building initiatives among OVC service providers - Strengthen reporting on OVC activities through
National OVC Management Information System in the region. - Prepare and submit periodic reports as per the organizational, government and donor
requirements. - Performing other duties as assigned.
- The
ideal candidate for the Regional Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC)
Manager job opportunity should hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and
Social Administration, social sciences or any other related field - Possession
of a post graduate training and Post-graduate diploma in project
planning and management will be an added advantage - At least five years of recent experience in
designing, implementing and managing OVC programs - Previous experience in implementing donor-funded projects
- Familiarity with OVC programming in Uganda
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office
Programs)
