Officer Micro-Enterprise
the world’s largest Non-Governmental Development Organizations, working in a
number of countries in Africa and Asia on poverty alleviation Programs, is
registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization implements integrated
development approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock,
Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.
ENABEL Uganda and in collaboration with YWCA is implementing a Skills
development project for youth, women and girls among refugees and host
communities m Kiryandongo district. The project aims to increase access to
local labour market and help beneficiaries establish micro-enterprises. The
youth will be given market relevant technical and soft skills by involving them
in skills development opportunities. This will enhance their employment and or
self-employment opportunities within the local labour market; improve the household
income and contribute to the local economy.
- Support
the effective implementation of the Skills development project with a
specific focus on microenterprise training for Child bearing mothers,
women with families and the disabled. - Support
the selection and or enrollment of beneficiaries under the project. - Offer
technical support for the training programmes under the micro-enterprise
component of the project. - Co-ordinate
with other implementers and relevant government departments to align the
micro enterprise training component with the Skilling Uganda strategy. - Monitor
and follow up all field level operations in respect to the project and
ensure regular supervision of the project activities. - Organize
and conduct community engagement meetings and stakeholder workshops, based
on the project demands and requirements. - Write
reports and maintain accurate documentation in respect to implementation
of the project. - Ensure
effective communication with internal and external all stakeholders.
- The
ideal candidate for the BRAC International Project Officer
Micro-Enterprise job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Development
studies, social entrepreneurship, social sciences or related discipline.
Additional training in micro-enterprise is an added advantage. - At
least three years’ experience in implementing related projects in an NGO, - Should
have knowledge and experience on the ethos of micro-enterprise training. - Ability
to supervise, inspire motivate and work with women groups. - Excellent
communication skills in English and the local languages in the above
location. - Previous
experience working with diverse groups including refugee settlements.
