About USAID RHITES-E Project:
IntraHealth International will
implement the USAID RHITES-E which supports the Government of Uganda (GOU) and
key stakeholders to increase availability and utilization of high quality
health services in 21 districts in Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja by
strengthening health systems and improving the quality of, access to, and
demand for health services with attention to equity and underserved
populations. IntraHealth International in collaboration with the District
Service Commissions of Mbale, Moroto, Kaabong, Abim, Nakapiripirit and Kotido
are currently seeking to recruit candidates for a USAID Activity USAID Regional
Health Integration to Enhance Services in Eastern Uganda (RHITES-E) will
support the Government of Uganda (GOU) and key stakeholders to increase
availability and utilization of high quality health services in 23 districts in
Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja. This will be done by strengthening health
systems and improving the quality of, access to, and demand for health services
with attention to equity and underserved populations
Job Summary: The Medical
Officer will provide and maintain integrated Curative and Preventive Health
Services at the HIV
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participating
    in diagnosis, treatment and proper management of patients.
  • Tasked
    with managing and accounting for allocated resources.
  • Working
    closely with other cadres in the delivery of quality h
    ealth care
    to patients.
  • Reviewing
    and evaluating patients undergoing treatment.
  • Adhering
    to professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.
  • Promoting
    public health practices in the community.
  • Participate
    in Monthly Clinic Review Meetings.
  • Participating
    in research activities and health data collection.
  • Designing
    and implementing Quality Improvement Projects
  • Compiling
    and submitting periodic reports.
  • Participate
    in monthly clinic review meetings
  • Participate
    in any other activities organized by PHITES-E routinely
  • Performing
    any other related duties assigned by the supervisor and RHITES-E



Key Performance Indicators:
  • Diagnosis,
    treatment and proper management of patients carried out
  • Patients
    undergoing treatment reviewed.
  • Accountability
    for financial and other resources carried out
  • Outreach
    health services implemented.
  • Health
    data collection carried out and reports submitted.
  • Ensure
    periodic reports submitted.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the USAID Project job placement must hold an MBChB or
    its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Must
    be registered with Medical and Dental Practitioners Council applications
    (MS Word and Excel)
