Uganda Business and Technical
Examinations Board (UBTEB) is one of the national Examinations Boards in Uganda
whose mandate is to streamline, regulate, coordinate and conduct credible
examinations and award Certificates and Diplomas in the Business, Technical and
Vocational professions. The Board therefore conducts Business, Technical and
Vocational examinations, including Applied Science specialties such as
Biological Sciences (Agricultural, Fisheries, Wildlife, Forestry, Bee keeping
and other related fields), Physical Sciences (Meteorology, Surveys and Land
Management, and other related fields), Cooperative, Social Development, Hotel,
Catering and Tourism.

Job Summary: The Manager
Technical Education will be the focal person for issues from Technical
Colleges, Institutes and Schools and their respective programmes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The
incumbent will ensure the timely and appropriate development of
examination test items in Technical education fields for every series of
examinations; - Ensure
the appropriate and timely moderation of examination test items in
Technical education fields for every series of examinations; - Make
sure that appropriate editing and proof reading of examination test items
in Technical education fields before final processing of examination; - Ensure
appropriate curriculum and or examination syllabi in the Technical
education fields are put in place and followed during item development and
other processes in the examination cycle; - Manage
the process of production of academic documents in technical education
fields; - Ensure,
coordinate and monitor the verification of continuous assessment
marks/results students from Examination Centers in the Technical education
fields; - Prepare
and submit periodic reports to the Deputy ES Examination Management
Directorate; - Be
responsible for coordinating the field assessment for real life projects
and industrial training for technical fields so as to monitor process
efficiency and productivity; - Support
the Deputy ES Examination Management in implementing compliance of set
standards and guidelines in execution of the examination process; and - Perform
any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
ideal candidate must hold a Master’s Degree in a technical education field
examinable by the Board from a recognised institution; - An
Honors Bachelor’s Degree in the field of engineering examinable by the
Board from a recognised institution; - Diploma
in a field of engineering examinable by the Board from recognised
institution; - Certificate
in any technical field examinable by the Board from recognised institution
will be an added advantage; - At
least six years’ experience three (3) of which shall be at Senior
management level of Deputy Principal/Principal in a Technical College,
Technical Institute, Vocational College/ Institute or at the level of at
least Principal Officer in a National examination/ Assessment body; - Age: 35-55 years
