About US:
The Higher Education Students’
Financing Board (HESFB) is a body Corporate established by an Act of
Parliament, number 2 of 2014, to provide both Loans and Scholarships to Ugandan
Students to pursue Higher Education. The objective of the Loan Scheme is to
increase equitable access to Higher Education in Uganda and also support
qualified students who may not afford the cost of Higher Education.

Job Summary: The Manager
Recoveries will be responsible for the Implementation of Loan Recovery processes
of the Board, formulating Recoveries Strategies and ensure an efficient
recoveries unit.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement
the Loan recovery strategy and management of debt portfolio of the Board
by meeting the recovery targets. - Manage
and review Board credit operations, policies and procedures. - Initiating
the processing of repayments and restructuring proposals for
Non-performing Loans. - Submission
of loans to upgrade with regard to Credit Referencing. - Keenly
analyse and report the performance of the loan portfolio on a monthly
basis/quarterly by clients for management and Board and provide remedial
actions where necessary. - Undertake
supervision of the Senior Recoveries officers and to ensure compliance
with credit policies and procedures. - Direct
liaison with legal department, external lawyers and collection agencies in
the loan recovery process. - Undertake
any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
ideal candidate must hold an Honors Degree from recognized University. - A
Masters Degree in Finance, Business Administration , Economics Banking,
Management or related degree. - Seven
years of experience in lending and recovery at senior management level. - Working
knowledge of Prudential Guidelines in recoveries - Excellent
communication and negotiation Skills - Basic
financial working experience. - Effective
reporting skills. - Initiative
and analytical judgment - Having
a proven record of managing recovery function at a senior level - Leadership
skills - Computer
skills; Excel, Ms. Word and power point
