they have the tools, supplies, information, training, and support they need to
provide communities they serve with the best possible opportunity for health
and well-being.
implement the USAID RHITES-E which supports the Government of Uganda (GOU) and
key stakeholders to increase availability and utilization of high quality
health services in 21 districts in Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja by
strengthening health systems and improving the quality of, access to, and
demand for health services with attention to equity and underserved
populations. IntraHealth International in collaboration with the District
Service Commissions of Mbale, Moroto, Kaabong, Abim, Nakapiripirit and Kotido
are currently seeking to recruit candidates for a USAID Activity USAID Regional
Health Integration to Enhance Services in Eastern Uganda (RHITES-E) will
support the Government of Uganda (GOU) and key stakeholders to increase
availability and utilization of high quality health services in 23 districts in
Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja. This will be done by strengthening health
systems and improving the quality of, access to, and demand for health services
with attention to equity and underserved populations
Engineering Technician will primarily test and repair medical equipment and
ensure that equipment are well-maintained, properly configured, and safely
functional
- Maintaining
biomedical equipment (establishing, adjusting, calibrating, testing) - Conducting
tests; ensuring compliance to codes; following manufacturer’s
instructions; troubleshooting and repairing; calling for special service;
maintaining equipment inventories; completing test records; equipment
sterilization - Adjusting;
calibrating; testing and documenting equipment performance - Writing,
reviewing and executing test procedures; documenting test results
(records) - Maintains
biomedical equipment supplies inventory; anticipating needs; managing
orders - Maintains
client confidentiality - Designing
and implementing Quality Improvement Projects - Maintain
a safe and organized workshop - Performing
any other related project work as assigned by the supervisor

- The
ideal candidate for the USAID Project job placement must hold a diploma in
biomedical engineering or its equivalent - The
applicant must be committed to learning new skills and keeping up with
rapidly changing biomedical engineering technology - Detail-oriented
with strong problem-solving ability, good computer skills and data entry
skills.
