Services
is a collaborative Bio-medical research and service delivery organization. It
strives to improve the quality of life of the local population through a
combination of community based research, curative services and prevention
strategies in the District of Rakai, South Western Uganda. It is based at the
Uganda Virus Research Institute Entebbe and Kalisizo in Rakai District.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), RHSP is implementing a 5 year
comprehensive HIV/ AIDS program in the 12 districts of Masaka region namely;
Rakai, Kyotera, Masaka, Kalungu, Bukomansimbi, Lyantonde, Lwengo, Sembabule,
Butambala, Gomba, Mpigi, and Kalangala with an aim of achieving rapid HIV
epidemic control.
Resource Assistant will provide support to the Human Resource Function in the
administrative implementation of set activities. The position will work closely
with the Human Resource Officer-learning and Development, Human Resource
Officer-Recruitment and Outreach Services as well as Human Resource
Officer-Payroll and Benefits Management.
- Provide support in Recruitment and Outreach
Service by Sorting and reviewing resumes as they arrive. - The Human Resource Assistant also manages the flow of paper applications
and manages the recruitment
email box. - Provides
the first review of resumes. Maintains a filing system that retains
qualified applications for one year, arrange interview logistics needed.
Makes sure that the workspace, computer and other equipment, mailbox are
ready for the new employee’s start day. - Assist
in preparing paperwork required for new hires and establishes personnel
file. - Provide support in Training and Development by
scheduling participants into training sessions, tracking participants and
training records as may be
requested, following up on training logistics required and facilitators for
the same. - Entering
training records into a database and maintaining the same as may be
guided. - Assisting
in the orientation of new staff on the required documentation and
following up on the same. - Provide support in Payroll and Benefits
Management by completing monthly allocations on time sheets and filing of
the same as may be guided from time, receive approved allowances and
ensure they are delivered to payroll, ensure new staff fill insurance forms and have theme
signed off by the HRM, draft correspondence as may be requested from time
to time
- The
ideal candidate for the Human Resource Assistant job opportunity should
hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial
psychology, Business Administration
(HR) or any other related. - At least two years in HR Management and Office
Administration. - Should have a pleasant enthusiastic
personality, appositive attitude to learn and the ability to take
initiative. - Independently motivated, able to meet deadlines
and proven ability to follow through on initiatives - Good communication skills (Both written and
oral) presentation and interpersonal skills.
