Ruharo Mission Hospital is a
private-not-for-profit faith based institution of Church of Uganda-under Ankole
Diocese. The Hospital is located at Ruharo, 2 kilometers from Mbarara town on
the Mbarara-Bushenyi-FortPortal highway, in Kamukuzi division of Mbarara
Municipality. The Hospital is a 100 bed accredited health institution of the
Uganda Protestants’ Medical Bureau (UPMB) and is registered by the Ministry of
Health.

Job Summary: The
Executive Director will be the head of Ruharo Mission Hospital and will e responsible
for proper governance in line with the mission and vision of the capital and
the Diocese at large.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Shall
be the head of the RMH - Perform
the duty of secretary to the Hospital Management Committee as stipulated
by the Ruharo Hospital operational Manual as part of Ankole Diocesan Human
Resource Manual - Shall
advise the Ruharo Mission hospital management on matters pertaining the
hospital and other Diocesan lower Health facilities and health concerns. - Prepare
periodic reports for management on the state of the Hospital and Diocesan
lower Health units - Provide
specialized clinical care to clients and a healthy work environment for
hospital staff - Shall
support clinical staff by way of continuous medical education and
consultation - Shall
initiate and participate in Ruharo Mission Hospital resource mobilisation
and generation, utilization, monitoring ensuring accurate, value for money
activities and timely accountability - Shall
carry out supervision of staff, appraisal performance, provide CME and
advise management on matters of Ruharo Mission Hospital and Diocesan lower
health units - Responsible
for proper Financial Administration and management of all Hospital
financial resources. - Responsible
for coordination of all Hospital Partners and maintain cordial public
relations - Responsible
for initiating the Hospital annual work plans and budgets, consolidate the
budgets and reports and presenting them to the authorised Committees &
Boards for review and approval. - Provide
and maintain the Ruharo Mission Hospital’s strategic direction ensuring
that the vision and mission of the Hospital are met - Ensure
Ruharo Mission hospital activities are run in line with the Hospital
values and Diocesan Health policy - Ensure
that the hospital’s operations are legal and fit for accreditation by
District Local Government, Ministry of Health, UPMB and other partners - Ensure
that the Hospital is alert for outbreaks of epidemics and notifiable
diseases and providing timely notifications, Interventions and responses - Ensure
adequate staffing in the Hospital and notify the Appointments, Dsciplinary
and Public Relations Committee of any Human Resource deficiencies &
other HR issues for appropriate action. - Perform
any other duties as may be directed by Hospital Management Committee and
Diocesan Secretary
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine & Bachelor’s
Degree in Surgery or its equivalent from a recognized University. - Master’s
Degree in Medicine or Public Health or Health services management or its
equivalent is a MUST. - Post
Graduate Diploma in Hospital Administration or Human Resource management
is an added advantage. - Valid
registration by the Uganda Medical & dental Practitioners council - Must
be a born again Christian with high sense of integrity, honesty,
faithfulness and with ability to lead - Computer
literacy skills - Possess
a clean and valid driving permit - Age: Between 35 to 60 years
