Job Summary: The Data Management Officer will serve as
important member of the USAID/ RHITES-E Project M&E unit and will be
responsible for data collection and entry within the USAID/RHITES.E activity
and sub grants. S/he will support
quality data collection, validation, compilation, analyses and reporting for
RHITES-E activity at all levels. S/he will responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the
RHITES-E Project’s data bases on process
indicators with the activity M&E system that excels in capturing and
reporting project progress towards achieving outcomes and results. The Data
Management Officer will report to the M&E Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The
incumbent will develop data bases to respond to data and enter data collected
on process indicators on daily basis and support analysis for evidence
based programming and reporting to - Enter
data from primary or other sources into a computer system and /or move
data from one part of a computer database to another locations - Act
as proofreader, double checking to make sure that the data being entered
is correct. This may include checking the data for basic errors in
arithmetic or making sure that data is entered in accordance with the
procedure outlined by the organization - Apply
specialized knowledge that allows professionals to interpret the captured
data - In
addition to basic proofing, a data management Officer will be responsible for providing more complex
fact checking such as making call-backs to check the veracity of the data
being entered - The
data management officer will also
be responsible for formulating data
into readable reports, this will entail assembling complicated statistical
tables, collating material from different sources and making copies of
finished product. - Ensure
that the data is well organized and stored for easy access. - Maintain
an organized filling system of source documents and other support
documentation to ensure audit trail - Ensure

data coordinator may also perform various administrative functions related
to collection, entry and dissemination of data, including preparing
packages and letters and sending mail, Faxes and email. - Adhoc
support such as responding to data requests from time to time and
supporting in data analysis to support reporting and evidence based
programming.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
ideal applicants for the Intrahealth International USAID RHITES-E Data
Management Officer job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in public
health, Quantitative Economics, statistics or Post graduate in related
discipline in M&E, Informatics, and Demography; a Master’s degree is an added advantage - Three
years for Masters and 5 years for bachelors degree of relevant experience
of implementing monitoring and evaluation of formal and informal health
systems - Previous
data management and M&E experience for USAID funded Projects is
desirable - Demonstrated
analytical skills to analyses and present data that responds to the varying
information needs to measure the outcomes of the activity interventions
and support activity supervision. - Must
possess a firm command of data analytics and data base management in one
of the following technical areas: HIV/TB indicators, MNCH/FP indicators
and HSS. - Proficient
use of Microsoft office especially Excel. - Knowledge
of statistical package e.g. EPI-Info, SPSS and R is an added advantage. - Excellent
analytical skills - Database
software; SQL aplus, Access
