registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization implements integrated
development approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock,
Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.
About BRAC Uganda Scholarship Program:
BRAC Uganda in partnership with
The MasterCard Foundation implements a national level secondary scholarship
programme targeting academically talented yet economically marginalized young
Ugandans. Over a period of eight years, the programme will enable 5,000
students to complete secondary school and transition into higher education.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The
    incumbent will explore scholarship opportunities for the scholars.
  • Provide
    on-going career information and education support services for scholars
    currently enrolled on the Programme.
  • Support
    the scholars to draw up action plans for subject choices at lower
    secondary and at the University transitional stage.
  • Support
    the management of institutional partnerships, organizing university
    recruitment fairs and admissions process, internship placements,
    entrepreneurial and employment initiatives, alumni led activities, etc.
  • The
    careers advisor will be responsible for regular reporting and analysis of
    various programme initiatives related to and specific to this function and
    role.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the BRAC International Careers Advisor job placement
    must hold a Bachelor’s degree in education, Social sciences or a related
    discipline.
  • At
    least five years’ experience in a similar position within the education or
    development sector especially postsecondary and tertiary institutions.
  • Possess
    extensive knowledge and understanding of education and youth programming
  • Ability
    to mentor and work with young people especially secondary students.
  • Excellent
    written and verbal communication skills, good computer skills &
    effective interpersonal skills.
  • Previous
    experience working in a multicultural environment with diverse internal
    & external stakeholders.
