Job Summary: The Agriculture
Supervisor is mainly responsible for achieving individual performance targets
(growth & quality) of agriculture products as agreed with the Sector Head,
Micro Lending and/or Head of Credit, support all agriculture business
activities and initiatives that will further the achievement of bank’s business
objectives.
Supervisor is mainly responsible for achieving individual performance targets
(growth & quality) of agriculture products as agreed with the Sector Head,
Micro Lending and/or Head of Credit, support all agriculture business
activities and initiatives that will further the achievement of bank’s business
objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible
for achievement of the overall agriculture portfolio budget growth and
quality targets for the bank. - Ensure
agriculture loans in arrears are promptly followed up and proper evidence
of follow up is maintained on the customers’ credit files. - Appraisal
and account relationship management for all Agriculture customers in the
bank (where no designated Agriculture staff are available) - Alternate
Chair of the credit committee meetings and responsible for risk assessment
of all the agriculture loans disbursed in the bank. - Ensure
full compliance to credit policies and procedures for all the agriculture
loans disbursed within the bank. - Mentoring,
training and couching of all the agriculture staff within the bank. - Responsible
for safety of securities and credit files of agriculture customers within
the bank (2nd custodian to securities & files of agriculture staff] - Creation
of a conducive working environment for all agriculture staff to perform
their duties. - Ensure
optimal staffing and supervision of all the agriculture staff within the
bank. - Target
setting, Performance management and appraisal for all the agriculture
staff within the bank in accordance with set targets. - Cascading
and enforcement of all credit circulars on policy changes and lending
guidelines communicated from head office from time to time. - Cross
selling of other products and services of the Bank to increase the Bank’s
income streams from existing customers. - Ensure
that all the customer service level agreements are adhered to at all times
such as the turnaround time for agriculture loan appraisals and prompt
feedback to agriculture customers’ enquiries/complaints. - Initiate
and maintain a business relationship with various partners in the
agriculture industry, e.g. farmers’ groups and farmers’ associations, - Any
other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Sector Head,
Micro Lending and/ or Head of Credit.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Branch
Loan Portfolio growth (Amount & No. of customers) - Quality
of bank agriculture loan book (PAR 2 days, 30 days & 90 days) - Measure
of write offs and Recoveries against written off loans - Monthly
Loan disbursements - Rate
of irregularly overdrawn accounts - Compliance
Rating to Policies & Procedures - Customer
Retention
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Commerce,
Accounting, Statistics, or any other business related course. - Any
professional courses in Banking, Credit Management, Accounting or Finance
will be an added advantage. - Three
years of working experience in credit at supervisory or management level. - Strong
analytical and people management skills
