Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) Supervisor
is a collaborative Bio-medical research and service delivery organization. It
strives to improve the quality of life of the local population through a
combination of community based research, curative services and prevention
strategies in the District of Rakai, South Western Uganda. It is based at the
Uganda Virus Research Institute Entebbe and Kalisizo in Rakai District.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), RHSP is implementing a 5 year
comprehensive HIV/ AIDS program in the 12 districts of Masaka region namely;
Rakai, Kyotera, Masaka, Kalungu, Bukomansimbi, Lyantonde, Lwengo, Sembabule,
Butambala, Gomba, Mpigi, and Kalangala with an aim of achieving rapid HIV
epidemic control.
Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) Clinical Officer will assess the clinical
problems of clients and carry out circumcisions. He/ She will also support VMMC
related training. He/ she must treat each client with dignity and respect.
- Perform circumcision surgery for adults at
fixed or mobile sites. - Ensure documentation of all surgical and
follow-up procedures - Ensure that circumcisions are carried out
safely in accordance with agreed policies. - Ensure that all activities as pertains to
circumcision are done according to the standard operating procedures. - Communicate professionally in writing
- Willingness to work extra hours
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
- The
ideal candidate for the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC)
Clinical Officer job opportunity should hold a Diploma in
Clinical Medicine and Community Health or equivalent. - Must be registered with the Allied Health professionals’
Council - Three years’ experience in providing VMMC services
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to ride is an added advantage
- Must be willing to work in rural settings
