About USAID RHITES-E Project:
IntraHealth International will
implement the USAID RHITES-E which supports the Government of Uganda (GOU) and
key stakeholders to increase availability and utilization of high quality
health services in 21 districts in Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja by
strengthening health systems and improving the quality of, access to, and
demand for health services with attention to equity and underserved
populations. IntraHealth International in collaboration with the District
Service Commissions of Mbale, Moroto, Kaabong, Abim, Nakapiripirit and Kotido
are currently seeking to recruit candidates for a USAID Activity USAID Regional
Health Integration to Enhance Services in Eastern Uganda (RHITES-E) will
support the Government of Uganda (GOU) and key stakeholders to increase
availability and utilization of high quality health services in 23 districts in
Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja. This will be done by strengthening health
systems and improving the quality of, access to, and demand for health services
with attention to equity and underserved populations
Job Summary: The Data
Assistant will also collect and keep records and information on patients,
retrieve them for Clinicians and researchers and ensure confidentiality and
safety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparing
    and sorting patients’ files and registers, and identify data to be
    entered.
  • Support
    transcribing of patients’ data from the patients’ files to MOH Care and
    Treatment registers
  • Confirming
    accuracy of data such as numbers, days, dates times, location on both
    source documents and in the electronic database
  • Entering
    patients’ data into a database
  • Keeping
    track of received patients’ files and registers that are used that are
    used for data record and entry.
  • Preparing
    and submitting periodic reports for regional referral hospital and
    Ministry of Health.
  • Participate
    in designing and implementing Quality Improvement Projects.
  • Assisting
    the Data Officer in preparing adhoc reports as may be needed from time to
    time
  • Backing
    up entered data are backed up regularly and the data are well protected
  • Maintaining
    safe custody of all equipment in the data rooms.
  • Performing
    any other related duties assigned by the supervisor
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Patients/
    records and information kept.
  • Confidentiality
    and data safety ensured.
  • Records/information
    availed to authorized persons.
  • Accountability
    for financial and other resources produced.
  • Periodic
    reports submitted



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the USAID Project job placement must hold a diploma in
    a records/relevant field from a recognized institution
  • Possession
    of a post basic qualification in HIV/AIDS counseling an added advantage
