Tutapona is an international organization committed to addressing the pain and trauma associated with war and violence. We have taken rehabilitation services to the most severely traumatized individuals in the heart of war zones. We take the love of Jesus Christ through trauma rehabilitation to victims of rape, mutilation, abduction, former child soldiers, and anyone affected by the horror of war. We train leaders on the ground in local regions affected by war and develop local teams of indigenous workers to carry on the effort within their own culture. We partner with local churches & organizations to bring healing to as many people as possible.

Job Summary: The
incumbent will be working within one of our field offices, opportunity exists
to provide group trauma rehabilitation programs, one-on-one support sessions,
and outreach activities aimed at decreasing symptoms of emotional trauma; as
well as increasing reconciliation and forgiveness for war affected children and
adults.  The Clinical Therapist is
responsible for leadership and management of Tutapona’s one-on-one sessions and
clinical documentation. 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • Post
    graduate training in mental health or counseling
  • At
    least three years of work experience in mental health or counseling
  • The
    ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion, patience, as well as strong
    social and communication skills.
  • Be
    a “people person” and possess high-level analytical and reasoning skills
    to apply theories to practical applications and strong written
    communication skills to document work and the stories of beneficiaries.
  • Applicants
    should have training and experience in providing therapeutic support, as
    well as experience training and supporting a team of mental health
    professionals in direct service, assessments, and documentation. 
  • This
    position requires commitment to, understanding of, and compliance with
    Tutapona’s Mission, Vision, and Faith position. 
  • Practice
    must be in accordance with professional international standards for
    conduct in the mental health setting.
  • Multiple
    languages and experience in translation
  • Computer
    literacy skills
  • Conflict
    resolution skills
  • Knowledge
    of NGO Sector
  • Public
    speaking or teaching
