Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the
Deputy FAOR Uganda, and in collaboration with the CCOs Secretariat, the Customary
Land Cluster Coordinator will:

Land Cluster Coordinator will:
- Provide technical and operational support
to CCOs activities in the cluster - Contribute to the development of district
specific work plans and ensure their timely implementation Mobilize
stakeholders and liaise with district authorities to raise awareness about
CCOs and strengthen local ownership over the process. - Support the implementation of activities
in each district pertaining to the cluster of District and Sub-county
representatives on the use of Open Tenure to demarcate, digitize and issue
Certificates of Customary Ownership (CCOs). - Offer technical support to the monitoring
and evaluation of all activities. - Assist with the communication and
awareness campaigns. - Support analysis of disputes resolution
mechanisms applicable in the process of issuance and management of
Customary certificates of Ownership and make recommendations on how to
strengthen them and make them more accountable, transparent and efficient - Support the analysis of information and
capacity gaps in the context of the Customary Certificates of Ownership
issuance and management at the district level and make specific
recommendations for addressing them - Document and present lessons learned in
selected events as - Support crosspollination and exchange of
information across districts - Ensure continuing coordination between
activities in the field and the Ministry and partners
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Food and
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Customary Land
Cluster Coordinator job opportunity should hold a Degree in Surveying,
Land Administration, Development or related field - Proficiency in technical assistance to
land projects; - Three years of experience with projects
related to land tenure, land administration, land rights regularization, or
similar; - Good understanding of the legal and policy
framework for land in Uganda; - Previous experience of Northern Uganda is
an asset; - Working experience with NGO, government and
UN is an asset.
