Manager
Relief Aid (HIJRA) is an international African humanitarian and development
organization that positively contributes towards improving the living standards
and conditions of those adversely affected by disasters and conflict in the
Horn, East & Central Africa by implementing WASH, Health, Education,
Livelihoods, Community service & development and Protection programs in the
region for a period of more than 20 years.
UNHCR in Uganda is implementing a multi-sectoral Program for refugees in
Oruchinga settlement (Isingiro district), Nakivale settlement (Isingiro
district) and Nyakabande Transit Center (Kisoro district).
Officer will lead a small team in planning, implementation and coordination of
activities for the prevention of and non- discriminatory response to sexual and
gender- based violence in Nakivale R/S. He/she will build relations to reduce
all forms of violence against women and promote services for SGBV survivors.
- Plan
and coordinate implementation of SGBV prevention and response activities. - Ensure
community engagement in SGBV prevention and response at individual and
group level. - Strengthen
the SGBV referral pathway in the settlement. - Provide
technical support on SGBV regarding identification and tracking of
incidents, monitoring of referrals and case management to the team and
partners. - Capacity
building for staff, community leaders and other stakeholders to prevent
and appropriately respond to SGBV through training, mainstreaming and
related activities. - Ensure
that the GBVIMS is regularly updated, strengthen data collection
mechanisms and prepare timely analytical reports on activities and
indicators. - Ensure
compliance to SGBV SOP by staff and partners - Represent
the organisation in various field level meetings relevant to the sector - Perform
any other duties as required.
- The
ideal candidate for the HIJRA SGBV Officer job placement should hold a
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration, social
sciences, development studies, Women and gender studies or any other
related field. - Four
years of work experience in the same field of development and humanitarian
work and NGOs. - Extensive
knowledge on SASA approach to SGBV prevention and response - Previous
experience with GBVIMS is an asset - Excellent
presentation and interpersonal skills - Strong
computer skills i.e. Microsoft office, PowerPoint and E-mail. - Strong
leadership skills. - Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
