Corporation (UPPC) is a body corporate established by the UPPC Act 1992 Cap.30
as a leading Government printer mandated to provide printing and publishing
facilities to the government ministries, departments, and parastatal bodies
.private companies, individuals and organizations. The corporation prints and
publishes all government legislation and documents and undertakes security
printing works.
Procurement Officer will initiate, plan, implement, monitor and manage the
procurement function of the Corporation as provided by the PPDA procurement
guidelines; aiming at strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency in
delivering services to its stakeholders.
- Tasked with the development of the corporation
procurement strategy
through a process of reviewing and analyzing the corporation’s; - Ensure that the Corporation follows the
appropriate procurement process for every procurement made as provided for
in the PPDA Act; - Maintain and archive records of the procurement
and disposal process; - Prepare monthly reports for the Contracts
Committee and such other reports as may be required from time to time for
submission to the relevant offices; - Liaise with HR on issues concerning procurement
training for PDU staff and the rest of the stakeholders of the corporation; - Identify risk areas and coming up with ways of
handling risks relating to procurement and disposal within the
corporation. - Direct and coordinate activities of PDU
personnel through participation in interviewing and hiring of PDU staff, and overseeing
their training. - Manage all procurement or disposal activities
of the corporation except adjudication and the award of contracts; - Support functioning of the Contracts Committee;
- Implement decisions of the Contracts Committee;
- Co-ordinate the procurement and disposal
activities of all the departments of the corporation; - Ensure compliance with the PPDA Act,
Regulations and guidelines made under this act, and best practice; - Control purchasing department budgets.
- The
ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
Procurement or Business Administration or Statistics of Computing or
Marketing or Finance or Accounting or Economics or any other degree in a related degree; - Possession of Master degree in Procurement or
Business Administration or Marketing or Finance or Accounting or Economics
will be of added advantage. - Possession of a Professional Qualification in
Procurement (MCIPS) is a MUST; - Five
years of managing the procurement function in public organizations
or private reputable organization.
