About FH:
Food for the Hungry (FH) is a
Christian international relief and development organization that has been
working in Uganda since 1989. FH’s primary goal is to respond to development
needs and complex humanitarian emergencies. FH is currently operating programs
in more than 26 countries and has national offices in the UK, Canada,
Switzerland, Korea, United States of America and Japan. In Uganda, FH is
operational in the communities of Pader, Kitgum, Lamwo, Agago, Kole, Kween,
Mbale, and Mukono Districts implementing programs in four main sectors of
Education; Food Security and livelihoods; Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk
Reduction; with the Head office located it Kampala.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategy
    Development and Program Design
  • Provide
    Leadership and management of FH Uganda Programs
  • Representation
    and External Relations
  • Staff
    and financial management



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in development studies or related
    field
  • A
    minimum of ten years of experience in managing and implementing programs
    in the development sector, five of which should be in senior management
    position within an NGO set up. A Master’s degree is a valued asset.
  • Proven
    experience with USG / USAID/DFID/UN/Private Corporations and general donor
    relationships
  • Proven
    strategic planning and program and project management experience in a
    humanitarian/development environment
  • Proven
    budget management experience coupled with experience in implementing and
    working in accordance with corporate structures, policies and practices.
  • Extensive
    knowledge of project design and implementation,
  • Experience
    in proposal writing, budgeting and financial management.
  • Demonstrated
    experience with participator/ approaches to development, including
    capacity building of local institutions
