Job Summary: The Underwriter
will accept risks, process documents and maintain a balanced business portfolio
as well assist in preparation of management reports. The jobholder will manage
placement, reinsurance, FAC. The jobholder will ensure renewal retention;

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Underwrite
insurance risk - Support
in quotations to intermediaries, clients and visit intermediaries for
conversion; - Assist
credit control in follow-up of premium payments - Assume
target and follow up renewal retention; - Place
re-insurance & FAC as decided internally; - Keenly
analyse and review performance of existing business - Assess,
inspect and recommend measures for acceptance of Risk - Filing
of documents on underwriting files and quotation files - Maintain
underwriting records+registers& MIS - Recommends
Risk management measures and improvements - Visit
risks and inspect SMEs; - Implement
enterprise risk management; - Maintain
professional contact internally and with all external stake holders;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University - At
least seven years of experience in general insurance
