About US:
Uganda Women’s Effort to Save
Orphans (UWESO) is a national non-government organization which was founded in
1986 by Ugandan mothers committed to providing relief aid to needy children
left parentless by the civil turbulence of the mid-1980’s and the HIV/AIDS
pandemic.
About AROC Project:
With support from the United
Arab Emirates, UWESO is implementing the AROC project (Advancing Rights &
Opportunities for Vulnerable Children). The project aims at reducing
vulnerability among children who have limited access to education because of
their socio economic conditions partly caused by their migrant nature and
refugee status.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The
    jobholder will co-ordinate the recruitment and selection process and  ensure availability of competent staff
  • The
    incumbent will ensure that the payroll is prepared and managed on a
    monthly basis.
  • The
    jobholder will also ensure that all staff (new and existing) have
    contracts.
  • To
    manage employee relations according to company policy and procedures.
  • To
    coordinate the performance management process of the organisation.
  • To
    manage the training and development function of the organisation.
  • To
    enhance the welfare of staff.
  • Ensure
    that policies and procedures are developed and operationalised.
  • Ensuring
    the effective management of staff exits.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant for the UWESO Human Resource Officer job placement must hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in any field and post graduate diploma in Human Resource
    Management, or its equivalent.
  • Possession
    of a masters ’degree in Human resource Management is an added advantage.
  • Membership
    to Human Resource Managers’ Association of Uganda is required.
  • At
    least three years’ working experience in a similar post working with a
    reputable NGO.
  • Ability
    to use computer packages like Microsoft Office and Human Resource System.
  • Knowledge
    of labour laws.
  • Ability
    to plan & lead a team of employees.
  • Leadership,
    Effective communication, Conflict resolution, Quick-decision making &
    interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must
    Adhere to child protection & safe guarding policy
  • Age: Above 30 years
