Coordinator
Children’s Foundation – Uganda (Baylor -Uganda) is a private not for profit NGO
that provides: HIV/AIDS care, treatment and prevention services; maternal child
health services; Health Professional training and Clinical Research.
Nurse will be responsible for providing Nursing care and treatment services to
the study participants and implement procedures for recruitment, follow up,
retention and exit of study participants as well as for managing study
documents in line with Good clinical practice guidelines allocated study
protocol.
- Carry
out patient triage, monitor vital signs, and other specialized nursing
procedures, as appropriated to the specific needs of the study and
individual participants - Keenly
monitors, observes, and records participant’s response to treatment and
other medical problems as appropriate, - Carries
out participant counselling, and serves as adjunct to other counsellors in
the study, Provides general overview and concept of the study to potential
participants - Completes
CRFs and source documents , Identifying and screening study potential
participants for the study, obtaining all necessary information - Carry
out general examination , carryout study specific procedures for all potential
or study participant’s pre and post entry into the study, and refer
appropriately participants who need further management - Take
off study specific samples required from the study participants after
consent, package them well and hand them to the laboratory personnel for
shipment - Collect
and file any required data for completion of Case Report Forms during
their interaction of the study participants including photocopying and
certifying the required original documents from health facility - Prepare
and submit weekly study screening and’ recruitment reports to the study
coordinator, the study team and key stakeholders.
- The
ideal candidate for the Baylor Uganda Study Nurse job opportunity should
hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/midwifery, knowledge of HIV/AIDS
Research - One
year of working experience in clinic assessment skills in a large hospital
or related institution
