Job Summary: The Medical
Officer- IMPAACT will conduct clinical patient assessment, provide medical care
and treatment to clients & their care takers, & contribute to
continuous professional development in line with the Baylor Uganda Medical
& Psychosocial needs
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing
    clinical and toxicity management & performing clinical assessment
  • Tasked
    with confirming/ verifying eligibility of potential research participants
  • In
    charge of ordering laboratory tests and interpreting them in a timely
    manner
  • Prescribing
    ARVs and other medications
  • Completing
    source forms and CRFs
  • Tasked
    with verifying the conduct of informed consent process
  • Providing
    HIV related counseling
  • Provide
    clinical assessment and evaluation of health or illnesses of clients
    inclusive of mental assessment and give proper individualized care and
    treatment in line with Baylor Uganda Clinical Policies and SOPs
  • Keenly
    monitor adverse drug reactions, disease progression and community follow
    up and provide appropriate management including referral of complicated
    cases to higher levels of management in line with Baylor Uganda Clinical
    Policies and SOPs
  • Prepare
    and submit reports on the progress of the study participants and shares it
    with the study team.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    ideal candidate for the Baylor Uganda Medical Officer- IMPAACT job
    opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine & Bachelor of
    Surgery.
  • Two
    or more years of working experience in clinic or hospital based services
    & experience in HIV/AIDS & ART
  • Must
    be registered with the Uganda Medical & Dental Practitioners council
