Company supervised by the Bank of Uganda and it provides financial services to
micro and small size enterprises (MSEs). Its major purpose is to provide increased
access to specialized financial services for entrepreneurs while contributing
to wealth creation, improvement of living conditions and development of the
Ugandan private sector.
Job Summary: The Business
Development Executive will enhance, develop and maintain all EFC customer
products portfolios through professional customer management and proper
business relations with existing and potential customers to promote the EFC’s
various products and services and meet their expectations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify,
    attract and retain savings customers;
  • Direct
    and through references and projects, enhancement of business.
  • Enhance
    sales in all EFC products.
  • Preparing
    & implementing sales plan/activities to acquire, expand and retention
    profitable relationships
  • Identify
    and evaluate potential customers’ financial and service needs and
    recommend new product/service offerings in liaison with BDCM.
  • Identify
    and develop new profitable business relationship.
  • Ensure
    timely planning and implementing campaigns for sales promotions Analyse
    savings rates on monthly basis and trends on a weekly basis;
  • Devise,
    and keep a regular customer visitation roster in order to assess savings
    activities and performance;
  • Participate
    in various marketing, representation and research activities to support
    the growth of the savings portfolio through the retention and growth of
    existing customers and attraction of new customers.
  • Other
    tasks and responsibilities that will enable the fulfilment of the above
    noted responsibilities include:
  • Identification
    of potential customers for referral;
  • Being
    attentive to the needs and expectations of customers and opportunities to
    improve service quality thus ensuring that their needs are fulfilled and
    that appropriate resources are performing the required follow-up;
  • Performing
    various support function follow-up activities to promote the quality of
    savings products;
  • Maintaining
    and improving quality results by adhering to standards and guidelines as
    well as recommending ways of improving the procedures;
  • Submitting
    monthly Products Development and Sales statistics and reports as required;
  • Submitting
    quarterly summary reports on overall Products portfolio performance;
  • Performing
    any other job related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the
    Reporting Officer.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    Business Development Executive requires good practical knowledge of
    handling new and repeat deposit business in the financial services sector
    and the foresight to see how the intricate day-to-day business activities
    link with and support the achievement of the vision and mission of the
    EFC.
  • The
    applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in business related studies or
    Marketing & Public Relations, Business Development or Humanities
  • At
    least two years’ relevant financial institution experience required;
  • Excellent
    sales record in the delivery of business targets.
  • Has
    working knowledge of operations, processes and credit.
  • Possess
    excellent communication skills both written and speaking
  • Sales
    and negotiating skills
  • Good
    communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers;
  • Excellent
    sales and marketing skills;
  • Customer
    Service skills
  • Excellent
    analytical and problem‐solving
    skills
  • Proven
    planning, co‐ordination and time management skills
  • Computer
    literacy skills in word –processing, presentations and statistical
    analysis
  • Well
    versed with KYC compliance requirements
  • Well
    versed in the financial products
  • Ability
    to multi-task and be adaptable.
