Initiatives for Relief and Development (AIRD)
Uganda
and Development (AIRD) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-religious and
non-profit international organization whose objective is to provide operational
support but not limited to: supply chain, logistics, construction,
infrastructure, environment, livelihoods and WASH in partnership with relief
and development organizations which primarily focus on disaster-affected and
development-orientation areas.
Operator will be operating project heavy machines including bull dozers, wheel
loader, compactor and grader to maintain
gravel roads.
- The
applicant for the AIRD Back up Operator job should hold a Uganda
Certificate of Education - Road
equipment operator training certificate is an added advantage. - Valid
Driving license class H. - At
least three to five years’ experience with road construction industry - Two
to three years of progressive experience operating heavy machines. - Knowledge
of roller operation and heavy equipment. - Knowledge
of road construction materials, processes and requirements. - Ability
to demonstrate an understanding of grades and interpret roadway plans ana
drawings. - Excellent
interpersonal skills - Good
time management skills - Heavy
equipment operation skills - Good
communication skills, - Confidence
- Ability
to work long hours - Sense
of balance - Able
to work in an outdoor environment including inclement weather, heat,
humidity, exposure to dust and asphalt - Ability
to work in any part of the country. - A
sense of urgency to meet deadlines - Teamwork
- Must
comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
