(URC) is a global company dedicated to improving the quality of health care,
social services, and health education worldwide. With a non-profit affiliate,
the Center for Human Services (CHS), URC manages projects in over 45 countries,
including the United States.
(URC) is implementing the USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Health
Services in East Central Uganda Project (USAID/Uganda RHITES-EC) whose aim is
to support the implementation of a comprehensive integrated investment in
regional health, nutritional assistance and HIV/AIDS programs. The
five-year project targets 11 districts in East Central Uganda with an estimated
total population of 4.1 million through a district-based integrated package of
quality health, nutrition, HIV / AIDS and child development services.
Manager will be responsible for administration, management, design,
documentation and evaluation of a variety of database management systems in
addition, the successful applicant will perform database and transaction log
backups, as well as maintenance and monitoring of database sewer performance.
- The
applicant for the USAID RHITES-EC Database Manager career opportunity must
hold a Bachelor’s degree of Statistics (Statistical Computing Option),
Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Possession of a Post-graduate qualification in the same field is an added
advantage. - At
least five years’ experience in IT, Management information Systems and
Database Management. - At
least four years of recent experience in developing and/or managing health
information Systems / databases. - Demonstrated
knowledge of managing medical records. - Experience
with international development activities in Africa and with organizations
such USAID, CDC, Ministries of Health is of added advantage. - Familiarity
with PEPFAR indicators, technical areas and interventions. - Proficiency
and hands-on experience in key database programming languages and database
management systems such as MySQL, JavaScript - Ability
to solve problems independently - Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
