number of countries in Africa and Asia on poverty alleviation Programs, is
registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization implements integrated
development approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock,
Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design
    emergency preparedness and response SOP, plan, guideline and framework for
    country programme considering BRAC International plan, strategies, focus
    and humanitarian standards & principles
  • Carry
    out country risk assessment for designing DRR & Emergency Response strategies
    & implementation of plans considering humanitarian standards &
    principles
  • Design,
    promote, and facilitate capacity development of country programme, local
    governments, communities and schools to address emergency preparedness and
    response considering internationally accepted standards & principles
  • Assist
    the team to develop emergency preparedness and responses plan for local
    governments, communities and schools by considering country
    situation/crisis and internationally accepted standards & principles



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant must hold a Master’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies,
    Disaster Management, Geography & Environment or related.
  • A
    minimum of three years’ experience of relevant experience in emergency
    response & disaster risk reduction in NGOs/development sectors.
  • Experience
    in proposal development, budgets, situational reports, action plans, brief
    notes & presentations
  • Excellent
    communication and interpersonal skills, skills on self-awareness, culture
    sensitivity, flexibility, adaptability and resilience
