Job Title:    Communications Officer

international not-for-profit Christian organization based in Jinja, Uganda with
headquarters in the United States of America. Our mission is to demonstrate
Christ’s love to children affected by poverty through education, healthcare,
character development, and empowerment.
Job Summary: The Communications
Officer is responsible for the Children of Grace – Uganda donor communication
and marketing efforts
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compile
    Annual Students Progress Reports – and merge into Publisher.
  • Coordinate
    the submission of Students letter writing procedure to their sponsors.
  • The
    incumbent will take lead in activities documentation through Photos/Videos
    for marketing and fundraising opportunities.
  • Manage
    all the Children of Grace social media platforms through Updating
    Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and write blogs as required.
  • Compile
    and write articles for a quarterly newsletter.
  • Support
    in the Preparation of annual Reports.
  • Update
    brochures and other marketing materials.
  • Prepare
    profiles for for new students available for sponsorship.
  • Coordination,
    hosting, and logistics of visiting teams.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in PR/Communications,
    Journalism, or related field.
  • Three
    years of work experience leading communications and marketing for a
    Non-profit or Private sector corporation.
  • Show
    commitment to understanding and supporting the mission of Children of
    Grace
  • Compassion
    and appreciation for orphan and vulnerable children issues
  • Superior
    writing and oral communication skills
  • Strong
    editing skills
  • Excellent
    photography skills
  • Excellent
    computer and typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
    applications
  • Basic
    design/layout experience (Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Photoshop etc.)
  • Attention
    to detail and strong project management skills
  • Ability
    to follow through on tasks with minimal supervision
  • Good
    team player
  • Professional
    attitude and appearance
