Public Health (MakSPH) is a leading public health institution in Uganda and
within the East and Central Africa region. Founded in 1954 as a Department of
Preventive Medicine, under the Faculty of Medicine, it became an Institute of
Public Health in 1974 and was upgraded to the School of Public Health in 2007.
MakSPH is one of the four Schools under Makerere University’s College of Health
Sciences.
- The
incumbent will recruit study participants including screening for
eligibility. - Obtain
informed consent and enroll participants into the study. - Administer
study questionnaires to study participants. - Treat
study participants reporting any health issues during the study and/or
refer as needed. - Conduct
home visits as part of follow-up of study participants. - Perform
any other related duties as assigned.
- The
applicant must be a Nurse or mid-wife with up-to-date registration and
license. - Excellent
interviewing skills, including ability to collect high quality interview
data. - Willingness
to work in an urban or semi-urban setting. - Previous
experience in research will be an added advantage.
