About UNHCR Project:
ADRA Uganda in partnership with
UNHCR is implementing a one-year Environment Protection and Renewable Energy
Project to be implemented in the 5 Zones of Bidibidi Refugee settlement in
Yumbe district, West Nile Region, starting January 2018.
Job Summary: The Field
Extension Officer will be in charge of one Zone in Bidibidi settlement,
responsible for the day-to-day community mobilization, awareness creation,
training and practical demonstrations of environment protection and / or energy
saving technologies. They will also manage a team of community based
volunteers, attend inter-agency cluster meetings at Zone level; manage
organizational resources and report to ADRA Uganda on a weekly basis.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant for the ADRA Uganda Field Extension Officer job placement must
    hold a Diploma in Environment and Natural resources management, Forestry,
    Renewable Energy, community development or a related field
  • Three
    years of hands-on experience – one of which must have been spent working
    with refugees and / or internally displaced persons.
  • Good
    project management knowledge, community mobilization skills and report
    writing.
  • Experience
    in working with UN Agencies – particularly UNHCR or its implementing
    partners in West Nile Region is highly sought for.
  • The
    applicant must hold a valid motor-cycle riding permit and should be
    willing to reside in one of the zones in Bidibidi refugee settlement.
